In Norconsult we value our clients, job applicants and partners, and we are committed to protecting your privacy. Here, we would like to explain how and why we process information about our job applicants and clients, and how we handle privacy considerations.

We will only use personal data for purposes that can objectively be said to relate to our business, and the personal data will always be processed in accordance with Norconsult’s privacy guidelines.

This privacy declaration applies to all companies in the Norconsult Group.

What are personal data?

Personal data is the term for information that makes it possible to identify a person directly or indirectly. Direct identifiers include name, civil registration number, email address or other unique individual characteristics.

Who is responsible for personal data at Norconsult?

When you apply for a position at – or are a customer of – Norconsult, then Norconsult ASA, Postboks 626, 1303 Sandvika, Norway is the Controller in the context of your personal data.

This means that Norconsult decides what the personal data are used for and is responsible for ensuring they are processed in compliance with the rules and regulations in effect at any time.

Which personal data do we process and store?

When you visit our websites, no data about you are processed except to a limited extent through the use of what are known as “cookies”. Cookies are text files used to provide visitors to the site with the best possible experience and service. Under the terms of the Norwegian Electronic Communications Act, we are obliged to inform our visitors of such use. For additional information, click here.

Norconsult only collects information that job applicants themselves provide to us. Job applicants register the following information: CV, references, letter of application, name, email address, phone number, work experience, education, skills and postal address – and these are the data Norconsult processes.

Norconsult operates a CRM system in which we register information about our clients. This information comprises of: name of company, name of contact, email address, phone number and job title.

What do we use the data for?

Norconsult will always ensure that personal data are processed legally and responsibly, and will only use such information for explicitly stated, legitimate purposes in compliance with relevant legislation.

The information you register when applying for a position at Norconsult is used to assess you as a candidate for jobs advertised on our websites, and to communicate with you during the recruitment process.

The information we register about our clients in our CRM system is used to provide better customer service and efficient customer care.

With whom do we share the information?

Norconsult does not share, sell, transfer or otherwise disclose personal data to third parties unless we are under a legal obligation to do so.

How can you examine, alter or delete the information we possess about you?

It is important to make sure the information we have about you is correct and up to date. If you wish to examine the personal data Norconsult possesses about you, or notice errors in the data that you would like us to correct, please contact us directly so that we can take the relevant steps. You can also contact us if you would like to have the information deleted.

We cannot store personal data for longer than necessary to fulfil the purpose of the processing and the legal obligations that apply to us.

Information Security

Norconsult has established regulations and procedures for privacy and the protection of personal data. We have implemented technical and organisational measures designed to protect your personal data against unintentional or unlawful destruction or unintended loss or alteration, and unauthorised disclosure or access.

Data Protection Adviser

The everyday responsibility for processing personal data rests with the CEO/Managing Director of each company in the Norconsult Group.

Norconsult employs data protection advisers at our companies based in Europe. The data protection advisers are tasked with ensuring that Norconsult complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and function as resources both for the company and for the data subjects in issues concerning privacy at Norconsult.

Consent, choice of law and legal venue

The present Privacy declaration applies to all users of our websites. We require users to accept and abide by the declaration as a part of our relationship.

By using our websites, you accept having your personal data processed in accordance with this Privacy declaration.

Norconsult is subject to Norwegian law. You consent to having any disputes that may arise settled by the court in Oslo pursuant to the laws of Norway, unless otherwise stipulated by mandatory local legislation.

Use of Cookies

By using the Norconsult Digital websites, you consent to us placing cookies in your browser.

"Cookies" are a standard technology that almost all websites use today. A cookie can be described as a small text file that is placed in your browser's internal memory. It allows us to keep track of what is placed in the shopping cart, which items are presented, and other statistics that we use to improve our websites for our users. We use CookieScript as our consent management tool.

 

Piwik PRO Analytics Suite

We use Piwik PRO Analytics Suite as the website analytics software. We collect data about visitors to the website using cookies. The information collected may include visitors' IP address, operating system, browser ID, browser activity, and other information. See the scope of data collected by Piwik PRO.

We calculate values such as bounce rate, page views, sessions, and similar metrics to understand how our website is used. We may also create profiles based on browser history to analyze visitor behavior, display personalized content, and run online campaigns.

Piwik PRO uses Microsoft Azure in Germany/Netherlands/USA/Hong Kong/ElastX in Sweden as the hosting provider for the analytics solution, and the data is stored for 25 months.

Purpose of data processing: analysis and conversion tracking based on consent. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR.
