Norconsult AS acquires October 1, 2009 all shares in Modalsli Prosjektering AS, thereby reinforcing its presence in the Western part of Norway.
The company continues its operations as a wholly owned subsidiary of Norconsult until January 1, 2010, and will then be continued as an integral part of Norconsult's office in Stavanger, Norway.
Modalsli has delivered advisory services within the HVAC and Environmental Engineering since 1997. The company has a wide range of construction projects on the reference list. All employees will continue in their positions after the acquisition.
Norconsult has offices in Stavanger and Haugesund, which are mainly engaged in consultancy within the construction, municipal, fire consultancy, landscape architecture, transport, land use planning, project management and construction management. Together with a strong HVAC environment from Modalsli, Norconsult will reinforce its position as a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy with nearly 70 employees in the region.
The decision to acquire the company is the result of a process that is strategically justified, where the outcome has been discussed with and desired by people in both companies. Both companies see this as a right move to meet future market and technical challenges, to secure workplaces and to create a foundation for further growth.
"With the acquisition of Modalsli we strengthen our market presence and multidisciplinary approach further by allowing us access to a highly competent and recognized professional community within HVAC and environmental engineering. We see great opportunities for market and technical synergies through this merger and look forward to offering a further expanded range of services along the value chains we serve today", says CEO of Norconsult, John Nyheim.
Managing Director Bjørn Ove Modalsli is pleased to be part of Norconsult and states:
"Modalsli and Norconsult have the same view of the future. The companies fit very well together, both commercially and culturally. The acquisition will strengthen both companies and will also be a good platform to develop services and products that bring increased customer value."
