Industrial Ring Road, Bangkok
To improve access to Bangkok Port and nearby industrial areas the new Industrial Ring Road was built. The road includes two crossings of the Chao Phraya River.
In the first phase of the project a feasibility study was carried out to determine the best solution for the river crossings. Options were bridges, bored tunnels or submerged tunnels.
The study concluded that the construction of two cable-stayed bridges was the best alternative. In the second phase of the project we provided detailed design and tender documents for the two bridges with approaches. Construction was completed and the road opened to traffic in 2006.
Norconsult Civil Engineering Co., Ltd. (NCE) acted as lead consultant and provided Project Manager, Bridge Engineers, Traffic Planner, Foundation Engineer, Dynamic Expert, Computer Experts (CAD) and Contract Expert.
The project was carried out in association with Epsilon and Mott MacDonald Ltd.
