Edvard Grieg - Weight Verification

The Edvard Grieg field is located in the Utsira High area in the central North Sea.  The Edvard Grieg field comprises a platform resting on the seabed (steel jacket) including full processing, dry wellheads, external jack-up drilling, and living quarters.  Planned production start is fourth quarter, 2015.

The Edvard Grieg platform is a fixed platform located at the Utsira High area in the central North Sea

The platform is designed as a field centre and will receive and process hydrocarbons from other discoveries in the surrounding area. Well stream will be separated into oil, gas and water. The oil is sent to the Sture oil terminal, the gas is used for gas lift and exported to St. Fergus in Scotland, and produced water is re-injected.

The customer is the Edvard Grieg license with Lundin ASA in charge.

Kværner Stord AS with Aker Solution AS as engineering partner is performing the EPC contract for the Edvard Grieg platform concept.

Engineering is in the final stage and no major design changes are expected.

Topside is split into 4 major parts and the modules have had an adverse weight development during the project.

Margins for the major offshore lifts have become marginal and Norconsult has performed estimates and a weight audit to evaluate if the weights will keep on increasing further on in the project development.

Based on the given information, there were no findings indicating major weight increases in the future.
