The project parts are spread out over a 60 000 km² area in 3 provinces with a road network of mixed standard.

Lot A, Contractor ETDE from France:

  • Building of 150 km of 33kV of Overhead line, including 45 transformer stations
  • Building of one new 220/33kV Transformer station and one new 66/33/11kV Transformer station inside an existing substation.
  • Total upgrading of city network in Tete from 6,6kV to 11kV, 54nos of 11/0,4kV Transformer stations to rehabilitate and also building new substations.
  • New 20km of 66 and 33kV double branch overhead line build with steel towers, between Matambo and Tete.
  • Rivercrossing over Zambezi River, the total length is 2,7km, the crossing span over the river is 700 meter using 60 meter high towers including aviation warning spheres and fiber optic connections, the towers are built in 110kV standard and are painted red and white.
  • VHF radio communication system including 7 masts with height up to 40meters

Lot B, Contractor EFACEC from Portugal:

  • Building 384 km of 33kV Overhead lines with more than 40 transformer stations 33/0,4kV.
  • LV Networks, 160 km connecting 4 000 customers inclusive meter installations.
  • Building one new 33/6,6kV transformer station (Moatize).
  • 33kV Cabling through Tete City and over Zambezi River Bridge to connect to the new OHL built in the same project.
  • Changing indoor switchgear to new one, Swg with 20nos bays with connections and cabling and new control equipment, the project is situated in the provincial capital Chimoio.
