Norconsult's Board of Directors has appointed Per Kristian Jacobsen as the new CEO. Per Kristian Jacobsen will assume the position when John Nyheim resigns at retirement age in June 2014.

Per Kristian Jacobsen (1957) has a degree in Technical Cybernetics from the Norwegian Institute of Technology from 1984 and has 25 years of extensive experience from management positions in various businesses. He has been CEO of Solberg & Andersen AS, IT Fornebu AS, Heidenreich Holding AS and CEO of Tandberg Data ASA. Moreover, he was Executive Vice President of Landis & Gyr AG in Switzerland in the 1990s. He knows Norconsult well, having been the Chairman of the Norconsult Board of Directors for the past eight years.

The Norconsult Board of Directors has since the spring of 2013 worked systematically to prepare the transition when John Nyheim in line with internal policy retires as CEO at the age of 62 in June of 2014. When Per Kristian Jacobsen enrolled as a candidate for the position, he immediately stepped down from his appointment as Chairman of the Board of Directors while the process was on going. He has now resigned from the Board of Directors on a permanent basis.

"We are very pleased that Per Kristian Jacobsen undertakes this task" says Chairman Oksum. "The Board of Directors is confident that he has the necessary qualities to continue the company's very positive development under John Nyheim's management the past 13 years."

"I look forward to becoming better acquainted with Norconsult's employees in Norway and abroad over the next year, as well as meeting customers and partners" Per Kristian Jacobsen says. "I will take over for John Nyheim with great humility, but I am confident that as a joint effort we will succeed together in making the Norconsult Group even stronger in the coming years."
