Norconsult strengthens its position in energy and transmission
Norconsult and ARA Engineering are teaming up to reinforce their position in the energy and transmission market. The move comes on the back of a strong, long-term working relationship.
"With the purchase of ARA Engineering, we are adding strong skills in the field of high voltage technology to the Norconsult organisation. We are delighted to welcome ARA's employees to our team, and are looking forward to working together to build up a robust pool of skills in the field of high voltage technology at Norconsult, both in Scandinavia and internationally. This is sure to benefit our customers in the form of an even stronger, multidisciplinary range of services," says Egil Gossé, EVP of Norconsult for Business Area Scandinavia.
ARA Engineering supplies services in the field of high voltage technology, comprising power cables, cable installations and transformer stations. The company currently employs around 25 people, and its head office is in Kopavogur on Iceland. ARA Engineering also has wholly owned subsidiaries in Oslo, Norway, and in Chrzanow, Poland. With the acquisition of ARA Engineering, Norconsult is now also represented on Iceland and in Poland.
"We at ARA Engineering have built up a strong environment in the field of transmission services, with a truly global presence. This fits in neatly with Norconsult's extensive tradition for international representation. Our two companies also make an excellent match with regard to our value bases, and we are looking forward to becoming part of the Norconsult Group," comments Árni Björn Jónasson, CEO of ARA Engineering.
