Norconsult to share BIM knowledge at Autodesk University in Las Vegas
Norconsult is invited to share its knowledge and experience with fully integrated Building Information Modeling (BIM) from design to construction at Autodesk University (AU).
AU is the largest event of its kind in the world and takes place in Las Vegas annually. The event hosts around 10 000 architects, engineers, designers, animators and industry leaders from all over the world. This year's event takes place on November 15th. – 17th. 2016.
Groundbreaking project uses fully integrated BIM
Norconsult will share innovative experiences in engineering, design and construction and present the Hydropower Project Vamma 12, the first project of its kind in Norway, and probably in the world, under construction. The project uses no drawings, only fully integrated models used directly on the construction site.
The Vamma 12 project is groundbreaking when it comes to fully integrated BIM and the related work processes. The project has received international recognition and has even been selected as an AEC Excellence Awards finalist for projects that takes BIM to the next level. Now the Norconsult team, represented by Marius Jablonskis and Kristoffer Bugge, will share their knowledge and experience on stage at AU.
Competence, innovation and new solutions
The Vamma 12 Hydropower Project is currently under construction. Norconsult is executing the detailed design with a fully integrated BIM approach in close cooperation with the Client (Hafslund) and the Civil Contractor (AF Gruppen). Competence and creative use of Autodesk products, together with innovation and in-house development of the new solutions, have made it possible to execute the project without drawings from design to construction.
The new power plant will contain a vertical Kaplan turbine (500 m3/s flow capacity and 128 MW effect). The project includes a new intake, headrace in tunnel (200 m2, 150 m long) and the power plant draft tube tunnel (200 m2, 75 m long). The powerhouse is constructed in a 35 x 35 m and 55 m deep shaft that is situated on rock.
