Today, Norconsult Peru S.A.C. and SN Power (Empresa De Generation Electrica Cheves S.A.) formally signed the engineering consultant contract for the Cheves project in Peru.

The Cheves hydropower plant is on the Rio Huaura, about 81 miles north of Lima, Peru. Cheves will displace some of Peru’s thermal power production. The UN confirms the project will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 394,000 tons a year.

The work will be performed between Norconsult Norway, Norconsult Andina Chile and Norconsult Peru. Construction period is estimated to be 3 years.
